Prime Video presents on architecting sustainably at re:Invent 2022

Elliott Nash – Senior Manager, Software Development – presents about how tools help establish baselines and drive significant efficiencies across Prime Video’s AWS usage.

At re:Invent 2022, Prime Video’s Elliott Nash (Senior Manager, Software Development) and Margaret O’Toole (WW Tech Leader - Sustainability, AWS) presented a breakout session on Architecting sustainably and reducing your AWS carbon footprint.

Organizations using Amazon Web Services (AWS) are evaluating sustainability metrics across their businesses, including their AWS usage. AWS launched the Sustainability pillar of the AWS Well-Architected Framework to help organizations evaluate and optimize their use of AWS services, and built the customer carbon footprint tool so organizations can monitor, analyze, and reduce their AWS footprint.

The breakout session shows how Prime Video used these tools to establish baselines and drive significant efficiencies across its AWS usage. The session also provided updates on these programs and highlights the most effective techniques for optimizing AWS architectures.
